Serving it up for Alight

Canterbury Athletics teaches our kids all kinds of valuable lifelong lessons, on the court and off. Sometimes the lesson is about more than competing for the win; it’s about supporting others in their own fight, particularly against cancer.

On Monday, Oct. 6, the Canterbury Volleyball teams will host their annual Dig Pink volleyball matches versus Burlington Christian Academy. Varsity plays at 4pm, with the JV match to follow. The athletes hope you’ll join them for a rousing match – and for the opportunity to raise breast cancer awareness in support of Greensboro’s Alight Foundation.

Put on your pink attire and head to Haley Athletic Center on Monday to support the girls and our local breast cancer survivors. Canterbury students will be hosting a bake sale, and the Alight Foundation will be there to give out information and accept donations on behalf of breast cancer awareness.

Monday is also a PINK CASUAL DRESS DAY for students. Volleyball players will set up in Fry and Armfield Halls to sell Dig Pink T-shirts and accept voluntary donations that morning with all proceeds going to the Alight Foundation.

Alight supports local breast cancer patients and their families, in the greater Greensboro area, by providing financial, educational and emotional assistance as they navigate through their diagnosis, treatment options and plan of care. Through collaborative efforts with community and health agencies, patients and their families can make well-informed choices and have access to important resources they need to get through the challenge of a cancer diagnosis.

Join the teams Monday for Dig Pink and come cheer on the girls as they support Alight!
